Exhibition Profile

Tsinghua University Art Museum owns more than more than 140 collections covering the period from the Ming Dynasty to modern time, mainly in stools, tables, and shelves. There is also a small amount of cabinet furniture. Among them, more than 50 pieces of famous Ming-style furniture mainly made of yellow pears, red sandalwood and other materials, and seven of them are included in the Rewards of Ming-style Furniture edited by Mr. Wang Shizhao.

The selected collections for this exhibition mainly come from the former Central Academy of Arts and Design. Furniture are exhibited as Ming Dynasty’s Huang Hua Li All-round Harp Table, Huang Hua Li Dwarf Recessed-Leg Table with Everted Flanges and Huang Hua Li Round-backed Armchair. Though limited in number and difficult to present overall perspective, the collections nevertheless deliver a microcosm of treasures of Tsinghua University Art Museum.
