Ma Weidu During the Lecture

During the lecture, Ma Weidu first differentiated the narrow and generic sense of collecting. He said, “All the things we purchase in our life time could be considered as a collection, since it never strays away from our own taste and aesthetics”. Later, by sharing his personal learning and collecting experiences, he emphasized that everything is interconnected. It is very important for people to read a lot to expand their thinking, so as to improve not only one’s personal taste, aesthetics, and collecting abilities, but also one’s overall culture. Ma Weidu also introduced the different levels of Chinese aesthetics in his lecture. During the Q-and-A session, Ma Weidu answered the questions with wit and wisdom, inspiring all with a lively sharing of artistic knowledge.
