Exhibition Profile
Wang Huaiqing is a rare example of a Chinese artist who truly grasps Western abstract art at the level of language, and an artist who is able, while thoroughly comprehending Western art, to extend the context of China at the spiritual level. His art is the fruit of an expanding outward from the heart of China. Employing a pure vocabulary of painting and materials, he conveys a strong sense of history and culture. What we read from his pictures are the memories of a people, their experiences and vicissitudes.
