Exhibition Profile

At the "2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation”, President Xi Jinping proposed that China and Africa should "join hands to advance modernization and build a community with a shared future". The Tsinghua University Art Museum and the China-Africa Leadership Development Institute (Tsinghua University), supported by the International Art Museum of Gulf of Guinea, jointly host the exhibition "African Art: A New Rediscovery”. The exhibition is divided into four chapters: " Between Humanity and Divinity: The Religion and Ritual ", " Between Human and Humanity: The Authority and Affinity" , " Between Humanity and Everything Else: The Animistic World " and " The Form of Beauty: The Appropriation in Modern Art “. A total of 200 pieces (or sets) of works are displayed, presenting the vibrant and diverse nature of African art from multiple perspectives.
