Mamianqun is a classic and representative type of skirt among Chinese traditional costume, which has a long history, unique shape, reasonable design and exquisite craftsmanship, and is both beautiful and wearable. This exhibition displays Mamianqun and their contemporaneous tops from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the early 20th century, presenting the effect of the Mamianqun to the visitors. In recent years, Mamianqun has once again attracted public attention with its unique charm. Contemporary designers take the design of Mamianqun as their inspiration, which is not only the inheritance of the beauty of Chinese traditional costume, but also the recognition of cultural identity regarding the present Chinese generation. We hope that people can feel the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional aesthetic genes through the exhibition.
