The modern and contemporary paintings in the Tsinghua University Art Museum are precious works long preserved in its collection. This exhibition presents a curated selection representing major regional schools including the Beijing–Tianjin, Lingnan, and Shanghai traditions along with pioneering explorations that merge Chinese and Western approaches and depict the spirit of a new age. These works testify to the dedication of earlier masters who, through teaching and creation, upheld the integrity of Chinese artistic culture. In this flourishing era, we revisit a century of artistic heritage with reverence, inviting viewers to uncover the cultural codes embedded in every stroke and colour to hear, in the interplay of brushwork and history, the timeless resonance of Chinese art.
