Exhibition Profile

This exhibition brings together representative works of folk ceramics from across China spanning nearly a century, revealing their authentic character—rooted in the everyday and in the service of life. Whether in the diverse forms born of utility, the spontaneous and effortless charm of their decoration, or traces of the hand that linger on vessel surfaces, all embody the unpretentious yet profound creative wisdom of folk artisans. Deceptively ordinary, these objects carry the warmth of rural life and reflect the continuity and transformation of China’s traditional philosophy of making and aesthetic spirit. Through these vessels, we rediscover the profound and vivid connections between traditional ceramics and people, everyday life, and the times.
